RRCS Prevention Services is dedicated to addressing community issues that impact citizens of all ages by implementing or supporting community prevention programs that reduce risk factors and promote protective factors associated with these issues.
RRCS Prevention Services believes that community issues need community solutions. As a result, RRCS Prevention works closely with local community coalitions such as Healthy Culpeper to collaborate, partner, and share resources to deliver effective community prevention programs and Healthy Culpeper and its Community Partners and Committees.
RRCS Prevention and Healthy Culpeper and its Community Partners are supported by the Rusty Bowers Suicide Prevention Coalition and Team Jordan.
These are local suicide prevention coalitions made up of family members and friends of loved ones lost to suicide.
Each year the Rusty Bowers Suicide Prevention Coalition sponsors a Lifesavers Walk and a Bowers Bowl Family Fun Day and Team Jordan sponsors a Team Jordan Raffle Fundraiser. Funds raised from these events are used to support prevention programs of RRCS and Healthy Culpeper and its Community Partners that reduce the risk of suicide in the Culpeper community. Team Jordan also sponsors a Survivors for Life Support Group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. This group meets on the 1st Monday of each month at the Culpeper Library at 7PM. Those who have lost a loved one to suicide and need support are encouraged to attend.

Living the Dream Foundation
The Living the Dream Foundation formalized as a community coalition on February 11, 2016 to address substance use disorders, depression and suicide in Culpeper, VA. Gloria Long is the Chairperson and Ed Long is the Vice-Chairperson. The Living the Dream Foundation will work to increase community awareness and education about substance abuse, depression and suicide; provide information on available resources for those in need of services; and raise funds to support local prevention programs of RRCS and Healthy Culpeper and its Community Partners that reduce associated risk factors.
